Last week, our friends from Italy Marilena, Teresa, Maddalena, Donata and Rosa visited together with Edith and Brigitte the Vienna Water School and the water tower on the Wienerberg.
The Vienna Water School is part Environmental Education Programme EULE.
With its child-oriented presentation of topics like water cycle, water supply or global water distribution, it is particularly suited for elementary schools.
Here are a few impressions of the water school:
The water tower:
At the end of the 19th century, the water tower on the Wienerberg and its adjoining buildings played a prominent role in the water supply of the elevated areas. With the construction of
the Second Vienna High Spring Water Pipeline a few years later, these installations became obsolete. Today it offers space for many different purposes.
